559 Fights was back at the Visalia Convention Center in Visalia California for 559 Fights 106 on Friday July 12 2024. Two double title fights headlined the card with the 559 Fights & CAMO State Cruiserweight and Lightweight titles on the line.

The 559 Fights & CAMO State Lightweight Championships
were up for grabs in the main event of the night. Defending Champion Abraham Del
Toro out of Madera would take on the always tough Joey Sandoval out of
Porterville. Del Toro was able to get the fight to the ground in round one, where
he scored using some ground and pound until Sandoval was able to get free
towards the end of the round. Sandoval pressed the action to get round two started,
looking for a take down. Sandoval would apply the pressure with Del Toro’s back
to the cage looking to get the fight to the ground. Del Toro would then reverse
positions and get a takedown of his own. Sandoval would scramble back to his
feet and land a nice right hand that seemed to daze Del Toro as round two ended.
Del Toro would get the fight back to the ground in round three where he scored
with some nice punches. Sandoval would work back to his feet but get slammed one
more time before the final bell. The fight would get sent to the judges where they
scored the bout a unanimous decision for Abraham Del Toro. Who will finish his
amateur career as the 559 Fights & CAMO State Lightweight Champion, and move
on to make his pro debut next.

The
559 Fights & CAMO State
cruiserweight championships were on the line in the co main event when Kyle
Mask took on Kyle Clark. Following a few exchanges on the feet, Clark would toss
Mask to the canvas when they engaged. Clark would move to full mount, but Mask
turned to his stomach to begin his escape.
Clark looking for a submission attempt from Mask’s
back, got shook off by Mask. Mask would get back to his feet and fight off a guillotine
attempt before breaking free. Both fighters are standing now, Mask presses
Clark along the cage but Clark gets out of the way. Clark then fires off a left
kick up to the head that’s blocked by Mask. Clark fires off the left leg again,
this time faking it and connects with a superman punch that ends the fight at
2:36 in round 1. Making Kyle Clark the new 559 Fights & CAMO State
cruiserweight champion.

Anthony Montalvo moved his amateur MMA record to 2-0 defeating
Marc Martin. Montalvo controlled round one with his ground game, slamming
Martin to the canvas a few times. Montalvo scored with some punches from the
dominant position in round one. Montalvo moved in for the take down in round two
where he then transitioned, pinning Martin down with a crucifix. Where he landed
hammer fists until the referee stopped the fight, making Montalvo the winner by
tko in round 2. Montalvo will now take on the undefeated Francisco Hurtado for
the vacant 559 Fights Middleweight title in September at 559 Fights 108.
Ian Russel defeats Paul Porter by decision in their light
heavyweight bout. Russell was able to land a few punches and get the fight to
the ground in round one, where he worked his ground and pound.
Porter fired off a few shots to start off round
two but got taken down again by Russel. Russel moved to half mount and scored
with punches while maintaining the position. Russel continued with the game
plan in round three sending the fight to the judges where they scored the fight
a unanimous decision for Ian Russel.

Jose Riojas and Michael
Brown went the distance in a fight that was close. Round one saw the fighters exchange
a take down while finding their groove in the striking department. Brown and
Riojas picked it up in round two, both had their moments landing some nice punches
while attacking the legs with kicks as well. Brown would get a take down in
round three and move to full mount, but Riojas immediately reversed taking top
position. Fighters would work back to their feet, with Brown pressuring Riojas
along the cage to the final bell. Following an interruption prior to the judges
handing in their score cards. CAMO officials ruled the fight a no contest for
the time being, until further review.

Chris Chapa shot in and took his opponent Israel Aldama down
twice early in round one. After the second time Aldama was able to get back to
his feet, Chapa connected with a right hand that got Aldama’s attention. Aldama
then threw a one, two combo that put Chapa down. The referee would step in to
stop the fight at 1:46 into round 1, making Israel Aldama the winner by tko.
Joseph Rodriguez defeats Antonio Ramirez by decision after
going the distance. Rodriguez was able to land the better punches while
avoiding any take down attempts by Ramirez. Rodriguez would also score with a
take down of his own before it was sent to the judges where they scored the
fight a unanimous decision for Joseph Rodriguez
Josh McMillon took the fight to the ground quick versus
Damien Iapichino, McMillon worked from top position landing a few punches. Iapichino
stood busy from his back, working for a kimura that helped him get back to his
feet before the end of the round. McMillon took the fight to the ground again in
round two but was met with a guillotine, armbar and triangle choke attempt from Iapichino. McMillon would escape and move to half mount where he locked in a guillotine
choke that forced the tap. Making Josh McMillon the winner by submission at 1:53
in round 2.
Evan Morales landed some good knees the body in round one
versus Isaias Avila. Avila would look to press Morales up along the cage, but
Morales took the fight to the ground himself in round two. Taking the back of
Morales, then moved to full mount and landed some hard shots. Avila would get
back to is feet and land a few punches towards the end of round two. Avila
would press the action in round three with Morales countering with knees to the
body. The fight would go the distance where the judges scored the fight a unanimous
decision for Evan Morales.
Lorenzo Quintana and Sajin Zacarias both looked sharp in
their debuts. Quintana showed great technique landing some nice kicks. Zacarias
continuously moved forward looking to press the action himself. In round two the
fighters would connect with a punch at the same time. Sending them both
stumbling to the mat. Zacarias would get the better position and take Quintana’s
back, where he then landed a few shots until the end of the round. Zacarias got
to Quintana’s back early in round three looking to lock up a rear naked choke.
Quintana escaped and worked from the top position sending the fight to the
judges. Where they all scored the fight (29-28) a unanimous decision for Sajin Zacarias.
Trevor Salas and Michael Afzali Jr left it all in the cage
in what was a back and forth war going into the final round. Afzali Jr would
shoot in but Salas stuffed the take down attempt and took top position where he
worked the ground and pound until the referee stopped the fight at 1:12 In round
three. Making Salas the winner by tko.
In the first fight of the night Aaron Flores defeated
Anthony Fernandez by tko after landing a right hand that dropped Fernandez.
Flores follows up with a few more shots and the referee stops the fight at just
:18 seconds in round 1.
Joseph Cruz defeats Christopher Mendoza by split decision.
