559 Fights 106 will feature four title fights on the main
card that will be televised live on MyTV 53. The 559 Fights & CAMO State
Lightweight, Featherweight, and Cruiserweight Championship’s will all be on the
line. The night will also crown a new 559 Fights Flyweight champion, with the
vacant 559 Fights Flyweight title up for grabs as well.
With the main card full of some of the best amateur fighters in the state. It is the undercard that is full of the new wave of fighters that will be looking to earn their way to that televised main card and an eventual title opportunity for 559 Fights. The Flyweight division has been a staple for 559 Fights in the past with champions like Manny Ruiz, Terrance Saeturn, and Laz Maldonado.
As mentioned earlier the division will have a new champion after 559 Fights 106, when (4-1) Jose Aguiniga takes on (3-2) George Burgos for the vacant title. There will also be three flyweight bouts on the undercard of 559 Fights 106 you won’t want to miss, and that you can only see live.Avenal’s 2-0 Christopher Mendoza looks to stay undefeated
when he takes on the debuting Joseph Cruz out of Fresno. Mendoza has gone the
distance in his first two fights, last seeing action at 559 Fights 105. Cruz
fights out of Dethrone MMA and looks to turn some heads in his debut versus a
tough opponent.
Some of these flyweight fighters will become headliners in
the game with their names on top of the main card, fighting for the promotion
and state titles in the future. The journey to get to that point is just as
important as the prize and these fighters will be taking the next step, if not
the first. Towards their goals in MMA at 559 Fights 106.
“I saw “DC” (Darren Crisp) training students on Instagram and figured this would be a great place for my brother and I.” said Quintana when talking about how he ended up at Crisp Kickboxing, Muay Thai & MMA.
“My goals for my amateur career are to fight the best possible competition and take them out, preparing myself for the pros. Also to put on a show for the fans.”
Speaking on what he has gained since he began training in MMA,
aside from the ability to fight. Quintana said, “Besides fighting, MMA has
taught me to respect everyone from all walks of life and also a whole new level
of discipline and focus that relates to everyday life.”
Quintana takes on Sajin Zacarias, who is also making his
debut at 559 Fights 106 Friday July 12th,
“Thank you to my coach DC, my brother Mark, and all my
teammates that push me every day. Also, my family and friends for all the
support. God bless to my opponent and respect always. Let’s have a good scrap
I’m ready!”
