The Valley’s Christian Avalos successfully defends title for record breaking 3rd time: A1 Combat 27 Results

A1 Combat returned to the Hardrock Sacramento in Wheatland California on Friday May 2nd, 2025, with A1 Combat 27. Four titles on the line with the main card being aired live on UFC Fight Pass. 

Current A1 Combat Lightweight Champion, Christian “LandShark” Avalos out of Parlier California. Would look to defend his title for a record breaking 3rd time. Prior to A1 Combat 27, no fighter had successfully defended their title more than twice. Avalos took on Ventura’s Jose Estrada in one of the feature fights of the night.  Avalos controlled the fight early, taking Estrada to the ground where he looked to secure a rear naked choke. Estrada would escape and stood busy while defending the submission attempt. Landing punches and elbows from his back. Avalos would continue to work the take downs, with Estrada landing some nice shots as he defended. 

Avalos worked his Muay Thai and boxing in round two where he found his range and landed some nice shots. The final round saw Avalos trip up Estrada, where Avalos then worked his ground and pound from the guard. Estrada would escape and get a take down of his own later in the round. Avalos would then lock in a kimura and reverse Estrada, gaining top position where he looked to keep Estrada grounded for the rest of the fight. The fight would go the distance where judges scored the fight (29-28. 29-28, 30-27) a unanimous decision for Christian Avalos out of Dethrone MMA.

In the main event of the night current A1 Combat Featherweight Champion Bruno Souza looked to become a double champ. Dropping down in weight to take on Hector Fajardo for the A1 Combat Bantamweight Championship. The fight would go three rounds, with Souza controlling most of the fight. However, with just :15 seconds left in the fight, Souza took Fajardo down with a head and arm triangle locked in. Souza tightened up the choke leaving Fajardo unconscious at the buzzer, picking up the win at 4:59 in round 3. To become the new A1 Combat Bantamweight Champion.

The co main event of the night saw the A1 Combat Flyweight Champion Terrance Saeteurn retain his title, defeating Isaiah Torres by unanimous decision. All three judges scored the fight (30-26).

Mirali Huseynov successfully defended his A1 Combat Welterweight Championship. defeating Shimon Smotrisky by tko. Huseynov charged in and landed a right hand that hurt Smotrisky. Huseynov followed up with an uppercut and a few more punches as Smotrisky hit the canvas. The referee would then stop the fight at 2:25 in round 1.

Andrew Coyne defeats Ysidro Gutierrez by unanimous decision, judges scored the fight (29-28, 29-28, 29-27).

Anthony Figueroa defeated Justin Cornell by unanimous decision, judges scored the fight (29-27, 29-28, 30-27).

Eric Cortez moves to 3-0 defeating Blake DeCourcy by unanimous decision, judges scored the fight (29-28, 30-27, 20-27).

Jonathan Powell also moves to 3-0 defeating Steve Mora by unanimous decision, all three judges scored the fight (30-27).

Last Stand Fight Team’s Pedro Juarez defeats Carlos Elizarraraz by knockout, landing a right hook that put Elizarraraz out at :35 seconds into round 2.

A1 Combat returns on Friday June 20th 2025 with A1 Combat 28 from the Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, Ca.
