559 Fights 120 Results

559 Fights returned to the Eagle Mountain Casino in Porterville, California for 559 Fights 120 on Friday January 9th, 2026. 559 Fights kicked off the new year making their live debut on UFC Fight Pass. Two titles were on the line with the Valley’s own Christian “Landshark” Avalos defending his lightweight title in the main event. While the inaugural 559 Fights Flyweight Champion would be decided in the co main event. UFC’s current flyweight Champion Joshua Van and former UFC women’s flyweight Champion Alexa Grasso were on hand hosting the event in what turned out to be a great night of MMA action.

Parlier’s Christian “Landshark” Avalos rang the UFC’s doorbell again with his performance in the main event versus Texas’s Josh Altum. Avalos, who trains out of Dethrone MMA in Fresno defended his 559 Fights Lightweight title for the first time, in impressive fashion. Landing a nice right hand that hurt Altum sending him to the canvas. With the “Landshark” closing in on a finish, landing some hard shots from top position. Altum shoots for an arm bar that did enough to let him escape back to his feet. Avalos circles Altum as both fighters reset standing and then lands another right hand. Altum goes down again where Avalos then moves into full mount and works his ground and pound until the ref stops the fight at 2:46 in round 1. Avalos now stands at 9-1 as a pro.
