Perez stops Fonzi to win heavyweight title at MMA Fights Pass Cage Fights Vol.4 “Battlegrounds” and Photos

The City of Farmersville Ca showed up today! As MMA Fight Pass presented the first MMA event in the city, MMA Fight Pass Cage Fights Vol.4 “Battlegrounds”. A full fight day in the valley as the promotion held boxing exhibitions early in the day from the Boys and Girls club that started at noon. At the same time weigh ins for the MMA portion of the card took place from Don Chavas Restaurant. There was never nothing to do in the city if you planned on staying the whole day, between the boxing exhibitions, weigh ins and all the great food the city has to offer. You could feel the build up for something the city had been waiting for, for years.

The MMA Fight Pass Heavyweight Championship was on the line in the main event as (5-1) AJ Perez took on CAMO MMA California State Champion (6-4) Jason Fonzi. Fonzi looked to pressure Perez early in the fight. Fozni closed in quick pressuring Perez against the cage as he looked for underhooks setting up a takedown. Perez would have none of that! Shrugging Fonzi off and getting his back off the cage. Perez began to pop the jab and find a home for some right hooks that seemed to stun Fonzi. Fonzi would make another attempt for a takedown, Perez would stuff it. Leaving Fonzi on his knees along the fence. Perez moved to the side and started hammering down punches wobbling Fonzi as he tried to make it back to his feet! Referee stepped in to call the fight in round 1, Making AJ Perez the new MMA Fight Pass Heavyweight Championship.

In the co main event Santa Rosa’s (0-0) Dominic Ducharme made a successful MMA debut representing Dave Terrel’s NorCal Fighting Alliance. Ducharme took on San Francisco’s (0-0) Trajordan Svarda. Ducharme made quick work of his opponent. Taking the fight to the ground where he found a rear naked choke that forced the tap in round 1.
