The wait is almost over! It is officially fight week in the Central valley! And MMA Fight Pass is set and ready to bring live MMA action to Famersville California for the first time ever Saturday June 25th, 2022. Archie Tovar and the team at MMA Fight Pass have been working hard building their promotion throughout the Central Valley. The events usually include A mix of exhibition muay thai, boxing, and BJJ matches followed by Amateur MMA bouts, giving competitors at every level a chance to get that experience needed to advance in the sport.
ValleyFightNews.com was able to catch up with Farmersville’s own Danny Valdovinos, Owner at Team KO and current Farmersville City Councilman days before fighters tip the scale. When asked what It meant to finally have this event in his backyard? Valdovinos stated,
“To finally have an event like this means a lot, this is something that I have been wanting to bring into town for a while. To make it happen now is a dream come true. It took longer than I wanted it to but I feel it is the right time now.”
The event will kick off early in the day with some exhibition boxing beginning at 12pm. Fans are invited to support the kids as they showcase the results of the hard training, they are putting in at the gym daily. The event will be held at The Boys and Girls Club at 623 Avery Ave, Farmersville Ca. The boxing exhibition beginning at 12pm will be accepting $15 donations at the door to support the Youth in the Farmersville community.
“This is an opportunity for our kid’s program to showcase skills & talent in the early part of our show... Ko Kids Boxing Team will represent Farmersville with pride. Something they will never forget since they will be the first ever to represent and fight in their own backyard. Now that will be history and memories they will never forget.” said Valdovinos when talking about the boxing exhibition.
MMA Fight Pass Cage Fights Vol.4 “Battleground” will also be featuring a couple of Team KO fighters on the show. Valdovinos let us know,
“We will have Juan Campos and Jacob Garcia representing in the MMA part of the Show. Win or lose our warriors will leave it all in the cage. Training went well with Juan Campos, he has finally got the fire back and the dedication to give it a second chance. He was out for a little over 5 years. This fight will be at 170 lbs, but we are planning to go down to 155lbs where he will be a threat.”
Speaking with “Mr. KO” it sounds like this may be the first of many events for the city, and not a onetime thing with him saying,
“This is something I'm planning to continue to do in Farmersville every year, I'm not just looking at doing one event. This is just the beginning, and we will continue to do boxing and MMA events. I have always been a person that will give it his all when it comes to achieving a goal or accomplishment. Quitting is not in my heart or an option. I been told I wouldn't succeed with my dreams of starting my own fight team or training people a long, long time ago but guess what!? They were wrong! I never let them stop me or discourage me from reaching my goals. Team KO is here to Stay! As long as I'm here, I will always fight and stand up for my Team & KO Family.”
With 22+ years of experience in the books, Farmersville’s Team KO remains strong with no end in sight. Valdovinos finished up by recognizing and thanking his circle of supporters saying,
“We are still going strong with the man upstairs and my love for the combat sports. I don't plan on retirement anytime soon and when I do, I will pass the torch on to someone in my Ko Family to continue the Dream and Team KO history,” said Danny. I would like thank God First, My brother Johnny Torture who has helped me out since the beginning, Coach Josue Valenzuela, Coach Pedro Leon, Coach Carlos Gutierrez and to my compa Juan "Pato" Jimenez who has helped me with Coaching and has been with us since the back yard days He has KO in his blood. I’d also like to thank Archie Tovar at MMA Fight Pass, and Tom Ownes For working with me and letting me be part of the Team. Last, but not least my wife Carmen who supports me 100%!”
