The main card will feature three tough title fights, headlined by the Woman's welterweight CAMO State title fight. In a feature bout, 90 Day Fiancé reality TV star (1-0) Biniyam Shibre is back! Welcoming him back to the 559 Fights cage will be (3-1) Fresno's Joshua "Come Up Kid" Simpson. Simpson was born in Fresno and spent some time in Bakersfield growing up before making his way back home in Fresno, where he resides now. I was able to connect with Joshua before his fight at 559 Fights 93. My first question was how he got into MMA? he responded,
"I Got Into MMA because of McGregor vs Diaz 2."
I asked if watching that fight in particular made him decide he can compete in MMA? Did it launch his love for the sport? Simpson who played football in Bakersfield and high school ball in Fresno replied,
"At that time I was waiting for a football career window to open up. I was playing ball at the time when I seen McGregor vs Diaz 2. The window for football was taking to long and I wasn't getting any younger. So I decided if could dedicate myself to the sport of MMA, I could get things going for myself. Maybe get as far as Conor did, I'm just hoping to trail blaze my way to the top with a few to little mistakes"
Simpson takes on 90 Day Fiancé star Biniyam Shibre, who made his California debut at 559 Fights 91 in October. Shibre has a couple more wins on his amateur record that he collected on the East Coast, and won his last fight in impressive fashion with a tko in round 2. Simpson who trains out Dethrone MMA looks to be up for the task. I asked Simpson how training has been going? what he expected and what he knew about Biniyam? Simpson responded,"Training has been going good, I train with Mike “El Palo Duro” Moreno out of Dethrone MMA Clovis . I'm working hard everyday pushing limits, game-planning and sharpening Tools."
said Simpson on his training. Regarding what he knew and expected from Shibre, Simpson said,
"I just found out about him when he got to 559 Fights. I expect a lot of explosiveness and unorthodox movement from him. I hope he's ready to bring his A game! Be prepared to bang!"
Not that he is over looking Biniyam, Simpson quickly added that his plans don't stop there! saying,
"After we get through Biniyam, We're bringing that 135 pound strap to Dethrone!"I asked Joshua if there was any supporters he wanted to thank or shout out? He finished with,
"I want to thank my coach Mike for pushing me, keeping me ready, and developing my game. Thanks to my support team at Dethrone! Rick, Eren, and Nick. They keep my guidance on point. Shout out to all my training partners and fellow fighters that work with me in the gym. All love! Shout out to my sponsors: Los Picantes, Trippy Nautz, Muffler Kingz, Joy cuaters Jewelers, Central Fish Co Morgan That's my guy, Next Level Barber Studios, Stogibear Shack For sure! and Chincheck Sports Wear, Check my people out, we got it going on man!"
