Lindsay's Mark Felix and George Burgos return at 559 Fights 99 July 29th

One more show to go until 559 Fights hosts their 100th event . The promotion will celebrate reaching that milestone in September but before then there is some business to handle at 559 Fights 99 Saturday July 29th, 2023 from the Valley Strong Ballpark in Visalia, Ca.

The former 559 Fights Lightweight champion Mark "Prime Time" Feliz is back, fighting out of Lindsay, CA and the recently opened Prime Time Kickboxing & MMA. Feliz returns after being away from competition for over a year to take on (6-1) Ramon Cornejo for the lightweight CAMO State championship. Feliz won the lightweight title at 559 Fights 80 in 2021 and holds a 6-4 amateur MMA record, with all six wins coming by way of tko. Felix had won four in a row prior to his last outing at 559 Fights 84. Cornejo on the other hand has continued to face tough opponents racking up a 6-1 record. His only defeat was to the last CAMO lightweight state champion.

Also returning to action is former  title challenger George Burgos out of Parlier Ca. Burgos fights out of Dethrone MMA, and is coming off a pair of tough fights with former champ Laz Maldonado, who has moved on from the amateur's looking to make a pro debut. Burgos has those same plans, but not before he makes one more run at the 559 Fights flyweight title. Burgos will be taking on Clovis's (3-2) David Plascencia in the co main event for the interim 559 fights flyweight title. The winner will move on to face current 559 Fights and CAMO State Flyweight champion Javier Torres later this year.

In the main event of the night, new 559 Fights lightweight champion (5-0) Blake "The Snake" Decourcy returns to defend his title for the first time versus number one contender (3-1-0-1) Dorian Hale out of Visalia. The vacated CAMO State lightweight title will also be on the line. Both fighters are coming in fresh off impressive wins, DeCourcy won the title at 559 Fights 96 with a submission win. The victory also moved the 19 year old to a 5-0 amateur MMA record. Fountain Valley's DeCourcy returns to the Central Valley to defend his title versus Visalia's Dorian Hale. Hale, who trains out of the Samurai Dojo in Exeter, Ca has earned his way to a title shot. Hale was able to edge out a very tough Joe Palacios by decision at 559 Fights 97. The win would move his record to 3-0-1.
