Valley Fight News: GYM LIST - Spotlight of the week - The Body Shop Health Club & Anthony Martinez in Lemoore

In this edition of Valley Fight News.com's Gym List Spotlight of the week. We welcome The Body Shop Health Club located at 1140 N. Lemoore, Ave in Lemoore, California.

The Gym is owned by locals Mike and Colleen Royer and is also home to former amateur middleweight MMA prospect Anthony Martinez out of Lemoore, Ca.

Martinez had a (3-1) amateur MMA record back in 2012, competing for 559 Fights throughout the Central Valley quickly making a name for himself. A horrible and unfortunate accident would lead to Martinez losing his right leg. His fighting career may have been over, but Anthony was in a much bigger fight in life now. He persevered through pain physically and mentally and still stands strong today. We never stopped following Martinez who is also the brother of former professional MMA fighter Mike Martinez of Lemoore, Ca. We kept up with his transformation into the bodybuilding and strongman scene, where he is again quickly making a name for himself.

Martinez continues to shine, recently competing in the 2023 National Veterans Wheelchair Games held in Portland, Oregon where he won gold medals not only in powerlifting, but in the shot put, javelin, and adaptive fitness. He took home the silver medal in discus and is already back at it training for next year's competition in New Orleans.
