Valley Fight Series 13 Results

Valley Fight Series made their debut at the beautiful Table Mountain Casino in Fresno, Ca with VFS 13. Saturday night November 4th, 2023, the promotion held their first pro/am event with some of the Valley's favorite fighters loaded on the card. The Central Valley MMA fans packed the house for a night full of action.

 

In the main event Fresno's AJ Perez took on fellow Fresno native (3-4) Chris Lewis in a heavyweight match up. Perez cut the distance early in round one coming forward pressuring Lewis along the cage. Lewis would score using his reach with both fighters trading a few leg kicks. Round two saw Lewis begin to open up a bit more as the fight found its groove. Perez would get a takedown in round two and land a few shots before Lewis got to his feet. Lewis would score by popping the jab, and got a take down where he landed some hard shots. Perez would make it back to his feet before the round was over and the fight would go the distance. Judges scored the fight a split decision for AJ Perez, moving his record to 2-0.


In the co main event Fresno's Destanie Yarbrough took on  Brittney Spinks. Spinks controlled the fight early using her height to her advantage to pressure Yarrbrough along the cage in round one. Spinks continued in the second round, getting the fight to the canvas where she took Yarbrough's back looking to set up a rear naked choke. Yarbrough remained calm and escaped. In the third round Yarbrough landed a hard punch that hurt Spinks. Yarbrough followed Spinks to the canvas where she followed up with some shots until the ref stopped the fight in round 3. Yarbrough comes back from being down two rounds to none, to get the win by tko.


Marqus Blevins defeats Sergio Guerrero by unanimous decision after three rounds of action. Blevins was able to out strike a tough Guerrero. Judges scored the fight a unanimous decision


Tyler Miller defeats Arturo Burgos by unanimous decision. Miller controlled the fight with his footwork, scoring with some nice combos. The fight went the distance and the judges scored the fight a unanimous decision for Tyler "BloodThirsty" Miller who is now 1-0 as a pro.


Farmersville's David Mariscal made a successful pro debut defeating Joseph Palacios by decision after three rounds of action. Judges scored the fight a unanimous decision for Mariscal.


Alec Acuavera  defeats Diamond Templeton by submission with a triangle choke that forced the ref in round 1.


Jared Sutherland  defeats Andrew Nguyen by tko after getting the fight to the ground. Sutherland landed some nice elbows and punches until the fight was stopped in round 1.


James Delsid  versus Omar Reneau was declared a no contest after an accidental shot to the back of the head left Reneau unable to continue.

 
"Captain Insano" Kail Melton picked up his first win as a professional. Kail was able to stop "Thor" Drew Preheim who was making his pro debut. Melton was able to get top position where he rained down some hard elbows and punches. Going into the break after round one, Preheim was unable to make it back to his corner. Melton wins by tko in round 2.


In the first VFS Youth pankration  match Isaiah Acosta defeats Johnathan Del Angel by decision after three rounds of action.


Zach Rodriguez defeats Danny Moreno by tko to retain his VFS Amateur Heavyweight Championship. Rodriguez stuffed a takedown  and took top position where he landed some hard shots forcing  the ref to  stop the fight in round 2.


In the VFS Bantamweight Championship fight Stuart Smith defeats Ramon Hernandez  by tko after landing a hard knee that hurt Hernandez. Smith followed up with a few more shots until the ref stopped the fight in round 2.


Ian Russell defeats Kache Palacio by tko to win the VFS Light Heavyweight Championship. Following a back and fourth fight, Russell was able to get top control and land some punches that had the ref stop the fight in round 2.

 
Morris Aldaco defeats Collin Hargreaves by tko after Aldaco got the fight to the ground where he landed some hard shots forcing the ref to stop the fight in round 1.


Bob Fader defeats Emilliano Perez by ko after landing a left hook that put Perez out in round 1.


Daniel Reyes defeats Xavier Hernandez by submission with a rear naked choke that forced the tap with 1:00 left in round 2.


Jake Johnston defeats Dario Cardenas by tko after the Dr. stopped the fight due to a cut after round one.


Javier  Zavala defeats MIchael Deon by tko, after taking the fight to the canvas where he got full mount and landed hard punches until the ref stopped the fight in round 2.


Juan Pato Jimenez retains his VFS Grappling title defeating Andrei Tudose.
