It is fight week for the Valley’s Jacqueline “Lulu” Flores! Flores heads to Texas to compete in her second amateur MMA bout at PFC 39 in Amarillo, Texas on Saturday October 19th, 2024.

Born in Tulare and raised in Visalia, Jacqueline “Lulu” Flores takes the next step in her MMA journey. The Golden West High School graduate is currently 1-0 in the women’s amateur flyweight division. Even with the Central Valley being a hot bed for MMA, Flores’s took a different path that led her out of state for her amateur MMA debut earlier this year. The PFC may sound familiar and bring back some memories of a former promotion at the Tachi Palace Resort & Casino back in the day. However, this PFC stands for Peak Fighting Championship and is based out of Texas.

Valley Fight News.com caught up with Flores prior to her next fight at PFC 39. Where she explained how she got into the sport of MMA.

“I decided to make my MMA debut after I competed in a couple of boxing fights. I have always wanted to fight MMA but had a couple of obstacles come along the way. Most of My youth years I wrestled, majority of those years I spent wrestling and competing a lot. I later picked up on some BJJ and eventually Muay Thai came along. A lot of things led me to the sport, but it was just a matter of when.” Said Flores.

“Lulu” made an impressive amateur MMA debut in June, taking her opponent to the ground. Where she quickly moved to full mount and began to land some hard punches and elbows. That’s right, elbows. Different from California’s CAMO rule set, Texas allows elbows in the amateurs. The referee was forced to stop the fight, making Flores the winner by tko in round one. Jacqueline currently trains with Crisp Kickboxing Muay Thai MMA in Visalia led by “DC” Darren Crisp, who Flores has known for some time now as she explained,

“Darren Crisp, and I go way back to when we both were students at Elite Team BJJ. I was 10 years old when I first met Darren. Now this was back when he was still an active fighter himself. About a year or so ago when Darren was coaching out of his garage at his home, I hit him up for some private lessons while I was in town visiting some family. At this time, I was training for the Golden Glove’s tournament in East Texas. Anytime I was in town I’d hit him up for some training, now I have moved back to my hometown for a while to get some more training with one of the best coaches I’ve ever had.”

Back home now with familiar faces grinding in the gym, Flores also enjoys spending time with her family, her dog, studying her Bible and of course working out. When it comes to her goals in the sport, Flores said,

“My short term goal is to get that win on October 19th in Amarillo, Texas! Long term would be to go pro this time next year. My ultimate goal is to be a UFC champion.”

“Lulu” tales the next step towards that ultimate goal versus Texas’s Samantha Agens, who is 1-0 in Muay Thai and will be making her amateur MMA debut. When asked how she felt about her next opportunity and the opponent? Flores replied,

“I’m super excited for this next fight. Any chance I get to compete is another step closer to my ultimate goal. I absolutely love what I do and enjoy putting on a show. My next opponent, honestly I don’t know much about her, I just know I’m ready for war. My only message is that I hope she is just as ready as I am. I feel I’m a pretty well rounded fighter, so I’m prepared for anything and everything.”

Jacqueline Flores vs Samantha Agens will take place on the early preliminary portion of the PFC 39 card and will air live on the PFC YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/peakfighting starting at 3pm PDT. Flores wanted to thank all of her supporters saying,

“I have so many people to thank for this journey, and it’s just the beginning. First and foremost, all glory to God without him I wouldn’t be able to continue my passion in combat sports. My parents, sisters, my fiancĂ©, mother in-law, brother in-law, my friends, family, 5oFitness, Elite Team Orosi, Darren Crisp, and my training partners. I seriously cannot wait to keep working to the top! I have such a huge support system, it is a blessing beyond all measure. 559 stay tuned this is just the beginning!!”
