Porterville's Martine Sandoval ready for business at 559 Fights 89

It has been a hot summer so far in valley, and with 559 Fights 89 just around the corner. The heat gets turned up a couple of notches!  It goes down Saturday August 13th, 2022 from The Valley Strong Ballpark in Visalia, Ca!

The 559 Fights Lightweight Championship fight headlines the card.

The promotions champ champ is back! As Undefeated 559 Fights Featherweight champion (5-0) Elijah Ozuna out of Team Oyama returns and is ready to defend his newly won lightweight title. Ozuna has been on a role and handling business, but ask the challenger out of Porterville (2-1) Martine Sandoval, what he knew about his up coming opponent? or if he had a message for him?  it was a simple answer, and you can tell he was all about his business when he responded.

"I don’t know nothing about my opponent, all I know is he’s training to hurt me and I’m doing the same. I don’t entertain the talking thing to much, no message to him."

I was able to connect with Sandoval when we reached out about his upcoming title fight August 13th in Visalia. Sandoval had been training out of Joe Soto’s CenCal Sports & Fitness in Porterville before it recently closed its doors. According to Sandoval training has been on point when he stated,

"Training for this fight has been going good. It’s been a family thing, my training partner, sparring partner, and drill partner is my brother Joey Sandoval. My coach has always been my dad Mario Sandoval. Joe Soto has been a good mentor for me as well, but for the most part I am my best teacher. I am my biggest critic and my biggest motivator. I push myself to the limits to grow and get better everyday."

Sandoval is ready for the tough test ahead of him at 559 Fights 89, but he is also ready to make moves in his MMA career. Not looking past this fight, i asked about his plans or goals in the sport. He responded,

"Everything I do or decide to start I finish, there’s no option to quit. Why not try to reach your highest potential while you have the chance? you never know. My goal is to reach my full potential and that’s to be my best in the sport. I feel I don’t have time to waste at an amateur level, as of right now. I believe i am ready to be a pro and start my journey towards reaching my goal."

A go getter for sure and Sandoval has no issue doing it himself. Working and training can take a toll on fighters,  knowing that. Sandoval ended by thanking his circle of supporters who have helped him along the way. He also let us know what to expect when he gets back in that cage saying,

"My coach's are my family, and my family are my supporters. Shoutout to everyone who helped me out along the way to get me where I am today. All my wrestling coaches, the people I’ve trained with, everybody who gave me life lessons and chopped up game with me, made me the man I am today. Want something done right? do it yourself, but you can’t get far with out no help. Shout out to my family and all my girls I love you all! What can fans expect when i return?.. A m***erf**king show! "
