Houston Scibek is ready for a tough test at 559 Fights 94 January 28th

It is fight week in the valley! 559 Fights is back at it with their first event of the New Year. The promotion returns with 559 Fights 94 on Saturday January 28th, 2023 from the Visalia Convention Center in Visalia, Ca. 559 Fights 94 will kick off to the "Road to 559 Fights 100", which will be celebrated when 559 Fights host their historic 100th event later this year.

First thing is first, 559 Fights 94 which is loaded with three title fights and headlined by the 559 Fights featherweight championship fight. Included in those three title fights will be a battle between two undefeated fighters for the interim 559 Fights bantamweight and CAMO state bantamweight titles in the feature fight of the night.

Current CAMO bantamweight champion undefeated (7-0) Alex Bonilla out of Salinas takes on undefeated Houston Scibek Saturday night in Visalia. I connected with (6-0) Houston Scibek prior to his fight at 559 Fights 94. I asked him about where he was from, how he got into the sport and how training has been going. Scibek responded,

"I was born and raised in Suisun City, CA (Bay Area near Vallejo) and I got into MMA growing up watching the old UFC vhs tapes as a kid. Training has been going great as always with my team at Train 4 Life in Suisun City here. I'm getting better everywhere."

The Bay Area Native has six wins in his amateur career, with 3 of those wins coming by submission. Houston returns to 559 fights, last competing for the organization at 559 Fights 87 In May of 2022. Scibeck takes on a game Alex Bonilla who is coming off back to back title wins. Scibek has a few titles of his own, when I asked Scibek what he knew about his opponent he responded,

"I don’t know too much about my opponent, but I know he’s also undefeated and must not be too bad at this. I’m just excited I get to move up and probably have my toughest test this weekend."

I asked Houston what his plans were in the sports and if there was anyone he wanted to thank?, he finished with,

"Moving forward, my goal is to become professional this year. I want to thank my head coaches, coach Sonny and coach B. I’ve got too many other coaches and training partners to list,  so I want to thank everyone else who’s helped me out in this. I really appreciate all my sponsors who will be on my fight shorts on Saturday, and I’m gonna make sure to bring a good fight and as much entertainment as I can for the fans showing up and watching this weekend."
