"I was born and raised in Rochester New York. I started kickboxing when I lived in Pensacola, Florida. When I moved out here I really started training Jiu Jitsu and I just naturally transitioned into MMA. This training camp has been great. I’ve been working with Coach Ruben Cuellar Jr, Coach Steve Ramirez, and Coach Marc de la Cruz."
Armstrong takes on (1-1) Travis Laui, out of the Bay Area at 559 Fights 94 Saturday night in Visalia. I asked him what he knew about his opponent? and what his future plans in MMA looked like? he responded
"I don’t know too much about him, only that we have the same record. Honestly, I don’t have any specific goals but I’d like to take my MMA career as far as I can."
Now Coach Steve Ramirez warned me ahead of time letting me know that Quentin was very humble and wouldn't be the one to toot his own horn. So I asked "Dangerous" what stood out about Armstrong inside the walls of Vitruvian Martial Arts, Steve stated
"I've been working with him for about six months or so at Vitruvian and honestly his stand up game is brilliant."
Ramirez a WEC veteran, mentioned Muay Thai bouts as a possibility for Armstrong moving forward and also added that "Q" is a team player saying,
"He's always looking for ways to help out other fighters during their camps."
I finished by asking Quentin if he had anyone he'd like to thank? I also asked what the Valley fans can expect at 559 fights 94. Armstrong replied,
"I’d like to thank my wife and family for always supporting me. And I would like to thank all my training partners and teammates at Vitruvian Martial Arts. The fans can definitely expect to see a show!"
