NW$E PRESENTS: The Valley Fight Series 11 “Of The Night” Awards

Valley Fight Series sponsor, NW$E (No Weak $hit Ever), is hooking up the “Of The Night” award winners with some NW$E swag! The VFS Awards Committee consists of their promoter, matchmaker, a UFC legend, production director and their grappling referee/judges. After several days of deliberating the results, they considered many factors when coming to their decision for each award.

Janelle San Nicolas vs Cienna Gutierrez, VFS 11 - Roy Walker

The BJJ Match of the Night Award goes to Janelle San Nicolas vs Cienna Gutierrez!

These Junior Women’s Atomweights are still in high school, but their grappling abilities far exceed that of the majority of their adult peers. This grappling match kicked off VFS 11 with a bang.

RESULT: San Nicolas def. Gutierrez to capture the inaugural Junior Women’s Atomweight Grappling Title! 

Moises Lamas vs Seth Upton, VFS 11 - Roy Walker

The Submission of the Night Award goes to UB MMA’s Moises Lamas in his victorious MMA debut!

Upton came out of the gates strong, but Lamas remained composed and in just twenty seconds into the very first round, he secured the choke forcing Upton to tap.

RESULT: Moises Lamas def. Seth Upton via Sub at 0:20 of round 1 

Jacob Clark, VFS 11 - Roy Walker

The Debut of the Night goes to Valley Fight Club’s Jacob Clark!

Clark fought a tough opponent in Concrete Jungle’s Jose Villasenor Jr, but Clark looked as composed as a seasoned vet in his debut!

RESULT: Clark emerged victorious following a vicious head kick KO/TKO! 

Enoch McCottrell, VFS 11 - Roy Walker

The Knockout of the Night goes to Tri City MMA’s Enoch McCottrell Jr!

The undefeated standout wrestler, Enoch McCottrell Jr., faced off against Concrete Jungle’s Felix DeLaPena with VFS Featherweight gold on the line. Mere seconds after the opening bell, “The Humble Beast” catches DeLaPena with a solid shot, sending him directly to the canvas, resulting in a 0:15 second KO/TKO finish.

RESULT: McCottrell remained undefeated and secured the VFS Featherweight Championship in his final amateur bout.  

Emy Perez vs Elisa Polanco, VFS 11 - Roy Walker

The Fight of the Night goes to Emy Perez vs Elisa Polanco: 2

Perez and Polanco first clashed in November of 2022, earning Fight of the Night honors, a victory for Polanco, and a rematch!

The rematch would also put the Women’s Strawweight Title on the line. Once again, these two put on one heck of a show, this time with Perez emerging victorious and capturing the VFS gold! 

RESULT: Emy Perez def. Elisa Polanco via Unanimous Decision making the two fighters 1-1 against each other!

Valley Fight Series 11 took place May 4, 2023 inside a sold-out Hanford Civic Auditorium in Hanford, Ca.
