Modesto, Ca - This edition of Outside the Valley Spotlight followed Marcial Marmolejo of Cali Fights up North on Highway 99 to Modesto California for 209 Beatdown XVIII. The event took place Saturday April 15th, 2023 from the Modesto Centre Plaza. Rayford Hudson and the JR Entertainment crew treated the fans to 10 amateur MMA bouts headlined by the 209 Beatdown Lightweight Championship.

Alex Vasquez, 209 Beatdown - Cali Fights Magazine

In the main event of the evening Devin Garcia took on Alex Vasquez for the 209 Beatdown Lightweight Championship. Garcia wasted no time taking the fight to the ground where he gained full mount position. Vasquez would look to escape but get his back taken. Garcia would look for the rear naked choke but Vasquez defended well as the fight went into round two. Garcia would look to continue with the game plan in round two taking the fight to the ground. Vasquez would reverse positions and lands some hard shots postured over Garcia. Vasquez scored with leg kicks in round three. Garcia would shoot for a takedown but get stuffed with Vasquez looking to score standing.

Garcia did get the take down on his second attempt, where he worked from top position to the final bell. Judges scored the fight (29-27, 29-28, 29-28) a unanimous decision for Devin Garcia making him the new 209 Beatdown Lightweight Champion.

Chris Ighalo, 209 Beatdown XVIII - Cali Fights Magazine

In the co main event Chris Ighalo defeats Ethan Krieger by unanimous decision after three rounds of action.

Jacob Wilkins defeats Blake Franco by tko, after a scramble led to Wilkins taking Franco's back. Wilkins rained down punches until the referee stopped the fight at :23 in round 1.

Deshawn Griffin defeats Rocky Batten by submission with a head arm choke that forced the tap at in round 1.

Sczar Charles defeats Brendan Crawford by unanimous decision.

Ruben Bowen defeats Alex Ordunez by tko at :26 seconds in round 1

Robert Lopez vs Bobby Ngo, 209 Beatdown XVIII - Cali Fights Magazine

Robert Lopez defeats Bobby Ngo by tko at 2:59 in round 1.

Jordan Fernandez defeats Brayden Jones by unanimous decision.

Terrell LeBeauf defeats Jordan Irizarry by split decision after three rounds of action.
