559 Fights 98 features new main event June 24th in Visalia

VISALIA, Calif. – An undisclosed injury took 559 Fights and CAMO State Flyweight Champion Javier Torres out of his main event on June 24 at Valley Strong Ballpark.

559 Fights president, Jeremy Luchau, elevated 170-pound 559 Fights champion Ramon Guillen against Jared Sutherland to the main event of the 17-bout card.

“In this sports injuries happen,” Luchau said. “We are lucky enough to put together solid cards where we could have several different high-level, main-event worth fights on one card. Javier will be back on a future card and we are working on something in the mean time for David Plascencia (Javier’s opponent left without a fight).”

559 Fights 98 will be featured live on MyTV 53 starting at 8:30 p.m.

Guillen (3-1) won the 170-pound strap in a majority decision victory over Michael Ramirez (2-2) in March. Meanwhile, Sutherland (3-1) was a technical knockout winner over Ion Cojocaru (2-2) in April.

“Guillen and Sutherland will both be guys to watch in the future,” Luchau said. “I can see either of these guys being picked up by a professional promotion in the future.”

In the co-main event, it’s a showdown between two of Fresno’s best lightweights, as Gino Gonzales (3-2-1) takes on Tracey Hunter (3-1).
