Outside The Valley Spotlight: A1 Combat 14 Results

Urijah Faber's A1 Combat hit Southern California Saturday, September 2nd 2023 for A1 Combat 14. The MMA fans at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles were treated to eight MMA bouts, headlined by a battle for the vacant A1 Combat Lightweight title.

In the main event Mexico's (13-3) Alejandro Sanchez took on (11-5-1) Eddie Hoch for the vacant A1 Combat lightweight title. The fight would go to the second round where Sanchez found a home for the leg kicks and had Hoch hurt. Sanchez fires off another kick to the lead leg of Hoch followed by a combo that has Hoch stumbling to the mat. Sanchez looks to land a few more punches but the referee steps in to stop the fight at 3:51 in round 2, making Sanchez the winner by tko and the new A1 Combat Lightweight Champion.

In the co main event Eimar Hernandez stopped Rodney Kealohi by tko to remain undefeated. Hernandez unloaded hard body shots, while mixing in knees to the head when Kealohi would look to cover up the body. Hernandez continued to land knees until the referee stopped the fight at 1:30 round 2 moving Hernandez to 7-0.

Bruno Sousa defeats Teruto Ishihara by unanimous decision, after going the distance judges scored the fight (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).

James Guidry defeats Steve Mora by unanimous decision. After three rounds of action judges scored the fight  (29-28, 30-27, 30-27).

Miguel Ceja defeats Christopher Cruz by submission after transitioning from a rear naked choke to the arm bar that forced the tap at 2:51 in round 2.

Jacob Rosales stops  Kai Lu by tko after landing a spinning back elbow that hurt Lu. Rosales moved in for the finish, landing a straight right hand that put Lu down again, Rosales followed up with a few more punches before the ref stopped the fight at 3:49 in round 1. 

Patrick Becker defeats Kris Ruffin by unanimous decision, after three rounds of action all three judges scored the fight (29-28).

Kohl Laren defeated Christian Cross by tko to get the night started. Laren dropped Cross with a straight right hand and followed up with a few more punches until the referee stopped the fight at 1:21 in round 2.
