559 Fights finished off the year with a bang with 559 Fights 102 Friday December 22nd 2023 from the Visalia Convention Center in Visalia, Ca. Day one of the first ever back to back MMA event in the Valley. 559 Fights set the pace with a card full of some of the top amateur fighters in California. The promotion has a few new champions going into 2024 and much more planned for the New Year,
The 559 Fights Bantamweight Championship was on the line in the main event as Hanford's (4-0) Gabriel Reyes looked to defend his title versus No. 1 contender (3-0) Jose Aguiniga out of Coalinga. Reyes fought for some take downs throughout the fight. Aguiniga was able to defend well, and turn the attempts into battles for position. Both fighters had their moments and would not make it easy on the judges. The fight would go the distance where it was scored (29-38, 29-28, 28-29) a split decision. Making Jose Aguiniga the new 559 Fights Bantamweight Champion.
In the co main event the 559 Fights Light Heavyweight title was on the line as Champion (4-0) Kyle Mask out of Madera took on Fresno's Isaac Johnson Jr. Johnson Jr. was able to pressure Mask along the cage early in the fight. Mask tried to let loose with his strikes, but Johnson would close the distance and work in the clinch along the cage, Johnson Jr did get a take down late in the fight before it was sent to the judges. All three judges scored the fight (30-27) making Isaac Johnson Jr the new 559 Fights Light Heavyweight Champion.
559 Fights Middleweight Champion Pedro Trujillo was able to defend his title versus Salvador Huerta. Trujillo finished the fight after slamming Huerta to the mat, where he then rained down punches until the referee stepped in to stop the fight at 2:26 in round 1.
Roman Guillen becomes a two time 559 Fights welterweight champion by stopping Vlad Burian in impressive fashion. When the fight hit the mat, Burian looked to lock up a triangle choke from his back, Guillen then slammed Burian twice. Rampage Jackson style putting Burian out cold. Guillen followed up with a few more punches before the ref was able to stop the fight in round 1.
Visalia's Isaac Lopez defeats Michael Gomez by submission in round 1.
Johnny Diaz defeats Jose Riojas by unanimous decision, all three judges scored the fight (30-27).
Michael Ramirez defeats Javon Crowder by tko in round 1.
Michael Brown defeats Ramon Hernandez by submission at 1:23 in round 1.
Joey Sandoval defeats Aaron Casey by submission in round 3.
Matthew Vargas defeats Alex Vera-Chavez by unanimous decision.
Christopher Mendoza defeats Isaias Avila by unanimous decision.
Manuel Ramirez defeats Michael Deon by submission in round 2.
Saul Rodriguez defeats Logan Yoder by unanimous decision.
