A1 Combat made their debut at the Visalia Convention Center with A1 Combat 16 Saturday December 23rd 2023. The final event of the year for the promotion as they teamed up with 559 Fights to host the first ever 2 day MMA event in the Central Valley.
The main event saw (14-8) Jacob Rosales who competed on Dana White's Contender Series in 2021 take on (9-6) Kevin Boehm. Rosales worked his jab while using his footwork to set up his combos. Boehm fired off some hard kicks looking to score, but Rosales kept moving forward. Eventually landing a left hook that dropped Boehm, a couple more shots and the referee steps in to stop the fight at 2:22 in round 1. Jacob "Lil Badger" Rosales moves his record to 15-8.
Parlier's (7-3) Jose "Stilmatik" Avalos returned to action versus (4-2) Abdikabyl Kaldar in the co main event. Avalos came forward pressuring Kalbar up along the cage in round one. They exchanged some nice kicks as the action picked up going into round 2. Kaldar was able to secure a couple of takedowns throughout the fight, even taking Avalos back a few times as the fight went the distance. Judges scored the fight (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) a unanimous decision for Abdikabyl Kaldar.
Lazarus Maldonado makes an impressive pro debut taking out Alex Mosier by tko. Maldonado used his wrestling to ground his opponent and land some heavy punches until the ref stopped the fight at 4:07 in round 1, moving "El Diablo Morado" to 1-0 as a pro.
Tulare's Brock Dias defeats Isaiah Batin-Gonzalez by KO, after landing a right hand that dropped Batin-Gonzales. Dias follows up with a few more punches and Batin-Gonzalez is out at 2:47 in round 3.
Tule River's Shane Christie moves to 2-0 as amateur stopping Gary Evans by tko. Christie immediately took the fight to the mat where he moved to dominant position taking Evans back and landed some hard punches until the referee stopped the fight at 3:07 in round 1.
Brandon Spencer defeated Enoch McCottrell by split decision after three rounds of action. Judges scored the fight (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
Joseph Ramirez stops Adrian Silva by submission after the two fighters tie up. Ramirez slams Silva down to his back, causing Silva to tap at :16 seconds in round 1.
James Porter defeats John Wadkins by unanimous decision; all three judges scored the fight (29-28).
