Valley Fight Series 14 card set for February 24th at the Table Mountain Casino

Valley Fight Series is back at the Table Mountain Casino for their first event of the year with VFS 14 Saturday February 24, 2024. The promotion moves forward with another Pro/Am event featuring some of the Valley's favorite competitors. The night will see a mix of Pro and Amateur MMA and Muay Thai bouts, along with Jiu Jitsu and Pankration matches.

(8-0) Heavyweight Richard Torrez Jr is back and set for his first fight of 2024. Tulare's Torrez Jr will head back to the Dessert Diamond Arena in Glendale Arizona to compete on the Top Rank on ESPN card Friday March 29th 2024.

Following eleven years with one of the top promotions in boxing, former WBC and WBO Welterweight Champion Jose Ramirez is no longer with Top Rank. The Avenal California native has made the move and will continue his boxing career with Golden Boy Promotions.

Urijah Faber's A1 Combat returns to the Tachi Palace Casino & Resort in Lemoore, Ca  with a stacked card for the Central Valley MMA fans. The promotion has announced a new date for the show, moving the event back a day to Thursday February 22nd, 2024. Two title fights will headline A1 Combat 18 with the women's Strawweight title on the line in the main event. While the A1 Combat lightweight title championship will be up for grabs in the co main event.

Now former champion, Raul Valdovinos was originally scheduled to defend his title at the Visalia Convention Center. Due to personal reasons Valdovinos is out of the fight leaving the title vacant. Clovis's (4-2) Chris Paez will now take on Sacramento's (3-1) Abdulmalik Saidabulov for the vacant 559 Fights featherweight title.

The 2023 year in combat sports is a wrap. It has been a great year for MMA in the Valley and we have heard the requests for a Valley Fight News Award and Award show. We have had the idea on the back burner since our return, and it is definitely in the plans for next year. Although we won't be having an official award show just yet, we will still be honoring and highlighting some of the Central Valley's best in the industry around our area with the 2023 Valley Fight News Honors.
