Urijah Faber takes on Jeff Curran in a Combat Jiu Jitsu match at A1 Combat 21 in Visalia

It was announced that "The California Kid" Urijah Faber would be coming out of retirement to compete in MMA again at A1 Combat 21 Saturday May 25th, 2024 at the Visalia Convention Center in Visalia, Ca. Urijah Faber will indeed compete, but it will be in a combat Jiu Jitsu match. A1 Combat took to their social media platform's to announce that MMA fans in attendance for A1 Combat 19 in Sacramento, would be let in on the news early on who Urijah Faber would fight. During the event it was shown on the big screen that Urijah Faber will be taking on MMA Veteran Jeff Curran who he fought at WEC 31 in 2007.

"The Big Frog" Jeff Curran is a MMA veteran who has been around since the early days of MMA. The Illinois native competed for many promotions including the WEC, Pride, UFC and others. 

Faber was able to secure a guillotine choke to get the win in their first meeting. The two will meet again almost 16 years later under combat Jiu Jitsu rules at A1 Combat 21 on Memorial Day weekend. Urijah Faber joined the broadcast team with TJ De Santis during the main event of A1 Combat 19. Where he confirmed the combat Jiu Jitsu match was set.
