MMA veteran Gonzales has competed for Combate and Bellator MMA since beginning his career in 2017. Gonzales went 7-2 as an amateur before going pro where he currently stands at 3-6 as a professional. Gonzales hasn’t competed in MMA since August of last year where he traveled to Miami Florida. Gonzales has most recently competed in a Muay Thai bout and was scheduled to compete locally in September, but the fight fell through leaving “Big Al’s” schedule open. He will now jump on 99 South to Long Beach California to compete for Shawn Merriman’s Lights Out Xtreme Fighting promotion.
Gonzales will be taking on San Pedro’s (4-1) Chris Alvidrez in
a welterweight match up at Lights Out XF 20. Alvidrez last seen action in July where
he picked up a ko in :20 seconds into round one at Lights Out XF 18.
Lights Out Xtreme Fighting is owned and operated by former
NFL All Pro linebacker for the Chargers when they were still in San Diego,
Shawn “Lights Out” Merriman. Who began his MMA promotion in 2019 and is
approaching his twentieth event. Lights Out XF 20 will also be available live
on Lightsout Sports, a live streaming platform also started up by Merriman.
