Avenal’s Jose Ramirez set for main event in Fresno on May 30th

Former WBC & WBO Super Lightweight Champion Jose Ramirez will be returning to the Central Valley on Saturday May 30th, 2026. Ramirez is scheduled to take on Jack Catterall in the main event from the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California. The event will be promoted by Matchroom Boxing and DAZN.

(29-3) Ramirez is coming off back to back losses for the first time in his career, last seeing action in May of 2025. Where his opponent Devin Haney was awarded a unanimous decision. Ramirez looks to have great first showing in 2026 versus an always tough (32-2) Jack Catterall out of England. Catterall is on a two fight win streak last earning a tko win in November of last year. The two fighters have a couple of losses in common, both falling short versus Josh Taylor and Arnold Barboza Jr. Ramirez and Catterall will now faceoff in a 140 lb. bout.
