Elite Team Visalia had three kids competing at the 2022 IBJJF Kids Pan American jiu jitsu tournament in Orlando, Florida! One of the most prestigious kids jiu jitsu championship in the world. Professor Tom Knox announce on his social media page that this years group would include Aiden Talavera, Ezekiel Bayardo, and Kai Mcbride making the trip to Orlando, Florida for the tournament saying.
"We are the only Academy in Visalia sending competitors to this event, Last year we had six kids compete, five medalists, four gold medals, and one silver medal. Over the years we have had many kids Pan champions. We're the only academy in Visalia to ever have kids Pan champions. Thanks to our sponsors who have helped these athletes financially to achieve their goals."
The International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) is the world’s leader in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments, hosting the sport’s most prestigious events in locations all across the globe for competitors of all ages. The two day tournament happened July 23rd and 24th. As the competition came to a end, it would be Elite Team Visalia's own Kai Mcbride earning a gold medal. Mcbride had won the silver medal back to back prior to this last competition, congratulations to Kai Mcbride!
Aiden Talavera also earned a Gold medal at the tournament becoming the 2022 IBJJF Pan Kids Champion in the orange belt bracket. Talavera secured back to back championships, finishing his last match with a triangle armbar! Congratulations to Aiden Talavera!
