Visalia's Cody "The Renegade" Gibson is back with the UFC, This time on The Ultimate Fighter Season 31

Visalia's Cody "The Renegade" Gibson is back in the UFC where he belongs. This time as a cast member of The Ultimate Fighter Season 31. Gibson who is (19-8) in his MMA career, made his way to the UFC the first time around in 2014. He went 1-4 with the promotion, earning a :38 second KO over Johnny Bedford at UFC Fight Night 44 in Texas.  "The Renegade" has been through some tough names on his way back to the UFC, facing the likes of Ray Borg and John Dodson. More recently Gibson returned to compete in California under the Up Next Fighting banner. Gibson took on fellow UFC veteran Francisco Rivera, where he won the promotions bantamweight title by submitting Rivera with a arm triangle last year in November.

This season of The Ultimate Fighter will include the bantamweight and lightweight divisions. The Ultimate Fighter is the UFC's version of a reality tv show, where two teams are coached by current UFC fighters that will fight each other later in 2023. This years coaches are "The Notorious" Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler. Fighters will be chosen to a team by the coaches, where they will then live, train, and fight together until there are only two left to face off at the TUF (The Ultimate Fighter) finale for a UFC contract.

The UFC revealed this seasons participants during their PPV Saturday night at UFC 285. The Valley fans are excited to hear the news, and look forward to supporting our own Cody "The Renegade" Gibson. The season premiere is scheduled for May 30 on ESPN+
