The inaugural A1 Combat Lightweight Champion was set to be decided in the main event as (11-6) Erick Sanchez took on (11-4) Ayadi Majdeddine. Unfortunately Majdeddine did not make weight so he would not be eligible to win the title, however Erick Sanchez would still be able to win the title if he won since he made weight. Majdeddine scored with some big looping hooks in round one. Sanchez looked to work his combos and make distance but looked to get caught with a low blow a few times. The ref would pause the action and even take a point from Majdeddine before the action continued.
Majdeddine would get the fight to the canvas in round two where he took Sanchez's back and sank in the rear naked choke and forced the tap at :55 seconds in round 2. Ayadi Majdeddine moves to 12-4, when asked what his plan was he simply stated,"Take down, make him tired, submission, that's it. I want to fight often, next time for the belt."
In the co-main (3-0) Terrance Saeteurn took on (6-0) Lake Gee in a flyweight match up. Lake looked to pressure Saeteurn along the cage getting a take down mid way through round one. Gee would score with punches while controlling the fight on the ground. Gee got the fight to the ground again in round two, where he controlled Saeteurn throughout the round. Gee continued with the game plan in the final round using his wrestling to control the fight. Saeteurn made it to his feet and let loose a fury at the end of the round as the final bell sounded. The fight went the distance where all three judges scored it (30-27) a unanimous decision for Lake Gee who moves to 7-0. Gee spoke on his opponent following the fight saying,"Oh dude, I knew he was tough but he switched things up on me technically that threw me off and I had to change my game, striking quite a bit to set my take downs. So my striking seemed a little off tonight, I'm not super happy about my performance. I ended up brawling a little bit, but he kind of pulled that out of me. I had to dig deep for this so Terrance is tough."
In what we saw as the "fight of the night" Sacramento's (4-0) Jack Duffy took on (13-6) Narek Avagyan in the feature fight of the night. Duffy flies in with a front kick that sends Avagyan to the ground. Duffy moved to full mount where he landed some hard punches and elbows. Duffy moved back and forth from full mount and back control while damaging Avagyan with shots that left Avagyan bloodied up as the round ended. Avagyan lands a big right hand that sends Duffy to the ground, a couple more rights has Duffy touching the canvas a few more times. Duffy survives and gets the fight to the ground where he postures up and lands some hard shots. Duffy works his way back to Avagyan's back where he sinks in a rear naked choke that finally forces the tap at 3:46 in round 2. Duffy hadn't fought in four years and was very impressive in his return. He let the fans know where had been and what's next, saying, "I spent a lot of time outside obviously not fighting but I was getting better the whole time. I'm ready, I'm ready to go all the way. I got my life together, I was on drugs doing stupid shit. Drinking, getting into bar fights every weekend. I've been sober now for three years and just grinding my ass off, I'm ready to go all the way! Dana White!? I'm ready, put me in there, I'm gonna take every single one of them out. I promise you I am the best. I just had to shake some rust off, it's a little funky getting in there after so long but I'm ready. I'm the best in the world, I'm gonna prove it."(1-1) Christian "The Landshark" Avalos returned to the Tachi Palace with an impressive showing vs (1-1) Eddie Davila . The Dethrone product landed a hard right hand that sat Davila down. "The Landshark'' followed his opponent down where he moved to full mount and landed some hard shots. During a scramble Avalos transitioned from triangle choke to an armbar that forced the tap at 1:43 in round 1. "The Landshark" spoke about his plan for the fight and future saying, "My plan was to land that right hand, my team been working on that, My coach said, "you got that right hand that's fuckin money! You've been landing that all camp" and that was the game plan. If he wanted to grapple? Well my grappling skills are up the roof right now so I'm ready to go man. I was ready for anything. We're ready for the next one, I want to fight for A1 Combat! You guys offer me a fight? I'm ready to take it man, let's go."Tule River's Shane Christie and Mauricio Magdaleno met in their pro MMA debuts. Magdaleno scored early landing kicks in round one. Christie turned it on in round two pressuring Magdaleno along the cage until he was able to secure the take down. Martino fought off the take down in round three, while setting up submissions of his own. The two traded as the fight went the distance. All three judges scored the fight (30-27) a unanimous decision for Anthony Figueroa moving him to 4-0.
Heavyweights took to the cage as Fresno's (3-3) Chris "The Law" Lewis took on (3-0) Luis Schwenke.
