Lemoore's Herminio Gutierrez returns to action at Up Next Fighting 11 Sept. 2nd in LA

It is fight week in Southern California for a few regional MMA promotions this weekend, One of those events is Up Next Fighting 11 taking place Saturday September 2nd, 2023 from the Burbank Marriot Events Center in Burbank, Ca. The promotion has been putting some great cards together this year and have another one set at UNF 11, which is headlined by two title fights.

The folks at Up Next Fighting seem to know where to look when they need a tough fighter from the Central Valley of California. They have had of course Cody Gibson, who went on to do his thing on The Ultimate Fighter, on his way back to the UFC, The Valley's Brock Dias was also featured on a card, and come Saturday Lemoore's own Herminio Gutierrez looks to get his first pro win at Up Next Fighting 11.

(0-1) Herminio Gutierrez started out training with Team Ochoa and now trains with Team Oyama. The former Lemoore High School Football player is also a 559 Fights veteran, and went (3-1-1) as an amateur. Herminio made his pro debut at UNF 3 in November of last year, where he came up short. Gutierrez looked great with his stand up early in the fight, even stuffed a few takedown attempts. As Gutierrez was getting comfortable mixing up his kicks and punches. His opponent was able to catch one of the kicks tripping Gutierrez down to the mat. The fight would eventually end with Gutierrez getting caught in a submission.

Gutierrez returns at Up Next Fighting 11 looking for the first win as a pro. This time he takes on Laguna Hill's (1-1) Chase Whitmer.
