Lights Out Xtreme Fighting is led by former NFL all-pro linebacker Shawne Merriman, who looks to keep growing the sport in his neck of the woods and has some big plans for the promotion that may even include him stepping in the cage. Merriman was interviewed prior to the event, where he mentioned some big names in other sports that could be making their way to MMA and competing at Lights Out. He was also asked if he had plans to compete? where he replied, "You know.. anyone want it? They can come and get it. Bobby Lashley if your listening, come take the fight, stop talking. Let's do it here at Lights Out Xtreme Fighting or wherever it doesn't matter."
In the main event AKA's (8-6) Anthony "Antidote" Do took on Escondido's (6-2) Victor Rosas in the flyweight division. Fighters wasted no time letting the hands go with both fighter landing some hard punches in round one. Do was able to score with some nice shots, but Rojas was able to mix in his kicks better along with his punches that had Do in bad shape going into the corner after round one. Rojas was able to use his boxing to damage Do's nose and face enough to where the Dr decided to stop the fight during the break giving Rojas the win by tko in round 1.UFC veteran (13-10) Jared Vanderaa out of Kings MMA took on San Jose's (5-3)Chuck Campbell out of AKA in the co main event of the night. The fighters would make into the final round where Campbell unloads a over hand right that puts the lights out for Vanderaa. The knockout comes at 4:34 in round 3 and moves Campbell's record to 6-3.Mexico's Miguel Piembert defeats Rich Salazar by submission after transitioning from the crucifix to a rear naked choke that forced the tap at 2:23 round 3.
The heavyweights hit the cage to get the professional portion of the card started as Joey Beatriz took on Elijah Harris. Beatriz was able to catch Harris coming in with a counter right hand that dropped Harris. Beatriz follows up with a few more punches until the ref stopped the fight at 4:08 in round 2 making Beatriz the winner by tko as he picks up the first win of his professional career.
Nathan Morris defeats Michael Burke by split decision, after three rounds of action judges scored the fight (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
The amateurs took to the cage to get the action started as Kevin Qose took on Jacine Olibrice. Kevin Qose was able to secure a rear naked choke that forced the tap at 1:37 in round 2.
