NW$E Presents Valley Fight Series 12 "Of the night" awards

Tyler Miller, VFS 12 - Cali Fights Magazine
Valley Fights Series returned to the historic Hanford Civic Auditorium in Hanford, Ca August 5th 2023. Another packed house for a night full of action at VFS 12, highlighted by a handful of championship fights and more. The promotion was looking to award two amateur fighters with pro contracts to compete at VFS 13 in Fresno November 4, 2023 at Table Mountain Casino. Where the promotion will begin to host pro MMA bouts along with amateur undercards.

Tyler Miller, VFS 12 - Cali Fights Magazine
In the main event of the night Trifecta MMA's Tyler "Bloodthirsty" Miller was able to defend his title in impressive fashion, finishing his opponent in round one. With that, Miller was one of the fighters awarded a two fight professional contract with VFS. He will go pro at VFS 13 November 4th 2023 in Fresno.

Angelica Pimentel. VFS 12 - Cali Fights Magazine
The co main event saw Fresno's Angelica Pimentel step in on 24 hour notice to win the VFS flyweight title. Angelica adds the title to her collection in what will be her final amateur fight. Pimentel was the second fighter awarded with a pro contract from VFS and will look to go pro at VFS 13.

In the NW$E Valley Fight Series 12 "of the night awards" the winners were announced as follows:

Kody Gardner, VFS 12 - Cali Fights Magazine
"The debut of the night" goes to Valley Fight Club's Kody Gardner who was able to pick up a win in his first fight. Gardner locked in a guillotine choke that forced the tap in round one.

Cienna Gutierrez and Janelle San Nicolas, VFA 12 - Cali Fights Magazine 
"BJJ match of the night" goes to Janelle San Nicolas and Cienna Gutierrez who competed in a rematch. San Nicolas was able to secure the win by decision.

Neto Nuno, VFA 12 - Cali Fights Magazine
"The next big thing" award goes to Neto Nuno







Fedya Chobanyan, VFA 12 - Cali Fights Magazine
"Title win of the night" goes to Fedya Chobanyan who stopped his opponent in the first round to win the VFS welterweight title.


Angelica Pimentel, VFS 12 - Cali Fights Magazine
"Submission of the night" went to Angelica Pimentel after her submission victory. Pimentel locked in a rear naked choke that finished the fight in round 1.

Ricky Melendez, VFS 12 - Cali Fights Magazine
"Knockout of the night" goes to Ricky Melendez out of Salinas who captured the VFS and CAMO state cruiserweight titles with a KO win in round one.

Zach Rodriquez vs Daniel Islas. VFS 12 - Cali Fights Magazine
"Fight of the night" went to Zach Rodriguez and Daniel Islas who went to war in a super heavyweight bout. The two went back and forth with the judges giving the nod to Rodriguez after three action packed rounds.
