Tachi Palace Hall of Fame welcomes Lavar Johnson and Chad Mendes Feb 22nd at A1 Combat 18

Tachi Palace Hall of Fame returns at A1 Combat 18 to welcome and honor MMA veterans Chad "Money" Mendes and "Big" Lavar Johnson. Urijah Faber's A1 Combat is back in Lemoore, Ca  on Thursday February 22nd, 2024 from the Tachi Palace Casino & Resort for A1 Combat 18.

Hanford's Chad "Money" Mendes began his MMA career after his time as a NCAA Division 1 wrestler. Mendes made his pro MMA debut at the Tachi Palace in 2008 and fought there five times all together to start off his career. Mendes, who trained with Urijah Faber's Team Alpha Male was 5-0 when he got the call from the WEC. Mendes went 4-0 under the WEC banner earning him a spot in the UFC, where he went on to headline and fight for the promotions title three times. Chad Mendes definitely deserves to be mentioned as a legend, along with the long list of Hall of Famers that he has faced in his career. As if the legendary fights with Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor weren't enough, "Money" Mendes also made waves in the bareknuckle scene more recently. Congratulations to the Valley's Chad "Money" Mendes for his induction into the Tachi Palace Hall of Fame.

Madera's "Big" Lavar Johnson began his MMA career at the Tachi Palace back in 2004 at WEC 9. Johnson would compete nine times at Tachi Palace during his MMA journey. Johnson fought for the WEC heavyweight title before the promotion moved to Las Vegas. Johnson would pick up four more wins in Lemoore under the Palace Fighting Championship banner. Then moved on to represent Madera and the Central Valley when he made his rounds for all the major MMA promotions. Including Strikeforce, Bellator, and the UFC. Johnson returned to compete in bare knuckle action in 2019 and recently won the heavyweight title in his last fight. Congratulations to Mad Town's own "Big" Lavar Johnson on his induction to the Tachi Palace Hall of Fame.
