Avenal's Jose Ramirez agrees to bout vs Arnold Barboza Jr in September

The Central Valley's (29-1) Jose Ramirez looks to have his next fight set as it is being reported that Ramirez. Has agreed to fight undefeated WBO Intercontinental light welterweight champion (30-0) Arnold Barboza Jr in September.

The Manager of Jose Ramirez, Rick Mirigian posted on his Instagram page that the Central Valley native has accepted the fight. With the winner to be WBO's number one contender and face Teofimo Lopez next, posting.

"@jcramirez2012 has accepted to fight @arnold_barboza_jr in September for the WBO #1 spot and winner to face @teofimolopez 😤 @oscardelahoya @makeawar let's do it in the #702 👊"

Ramirez sold out the Fresno Save Mart Center in his first fight under the Golden Boy banner in April. Defeating Rances Barthelemy by unanimous decision. Long Beach’s Arnold Barboza Jr also last seen action in April at the Barclay Center in New York. Where he won a split decision over Sean McComb to retain his WBO Inter Continental light welterweight title. The Venue and date for the event has yet to be announced.
