Visalia's Jennah "The Gem" Creason competed in her first fight of the new year on Wednesday February 19th, 2025. “The Gem” traveled to Jamestown California to compete on a solid line up. When Pro Box Tv presented Wednesday Night Fights “Home to Roost”.
Creason opened the night up, taking on Samantha Ginithan in
a four round junior welterweight bout. Ginithan the taller fighter looked to
establish her jab from the south paw stance in round one. Creason would use
good footwork and move forward in round one, to get inside and attack with a
combo of punches. Ginithan would start landing the left hand in round two,
looking to counterattack instead of evading Creason’s pressure. Creason would
continue to come forward in round three where both ladies would pick up the action.
Creason worked her way close enough to score, while Ginithan countered and used
her jab to create space. In the final round Ginitham landed some hard shots, with
Creason getting a bit wild with her footwork as she looked to score. The fight
would go the distance where one judge scored the fight (39-27) for Ginithan. The
other two judges scored the fight (38-38) making this a fight a majority draw. “The
Gem” now stands at 2-0-1 in her pro career.
“I’m feeling a little disappointed in myself, the outcome isn’t
what I wanted but it’s better than a loss. It’s a learning experience for me, I’m
still young in my career, going against better fighters like her is perfect. It’s
exactly what I want to see you know you have to go after the best to become the
best. That’s everything I want to do.” Said Creason after the fight.
When asked if she was able to adjust to the left handed
Ginithan? Creason responded,
“Originally yes, I started messing up my footwork later on
in the fight but I’m happy with the way I started. I want to come out a little stronger
next time. South paw orthodox, it doesn’t matter I’m just going to change my
game a little bit and improve it.”
Creason was asked if she would welcome a rematch between the
two? She finished by saying,
“Of course, especially because it’s a draw there is always
room for more and you know, again. I want to be the best and you have to beat
the best to become the best.”
