Parlier's Christian "Land Shark" Avalos heads to Sacramento to defend title at on May 2nd at A1 Combat 27 "Night of Champions"

The Central Valley’s Christian “Land Shark” Avalos is set to defend his A1 Combat Lightweight Championship at A1 Combat 27 Friday May 2nd 2025, from the Hard Rock Live Sacramento in Wheatland, Ca.

The “LandShark”, who trains at Dethrone MMA in Fresno will look to defend his title for the third time since winning it a year ago at A1 Combat 18 at the Tachi Palace Casino Resort in Lemoore, Ca.  (6-1) Avalos will now take on new challenger (8-5) Jose “Froggy” Estrada out of Ventura California, who will be making his A1 Combat debut. The “Land Shark” last saw action in July of last year, defending his title with a unanimous decision win over Samuel Alvarez at A1 Combat 23. Estrada is coming off a win in November of last year at UNF 21.

Also making the trip from the Central Valley to compete at A1 Combat 27 is Fresno’s Joshua “ComeUp Kid” Simpson, who also trains at Dethrone MMA. Simpson now 2-0 as a pro will get right back to work taking on (2-0) Jonathan Powell.
