Pimentel steps in to win VFS women's title, Miller defends title successfully: Valley Fight Series 12 Results

Valley Fight Series was back at the Hanford Civic Auditorium in Hanford Ca, for VFS 12. A packed house was treated to the first ever tag team jiu jitsu tournament, as well as a amateur MMA card that was headlined by five title fights. The promotion would also be awarding two fighters from the night professional MMA contracts. The winners of the contracts would go on to compete  for VFS when they start hosting pro/am events starting in November at the Table Mountain Casino. 

The event started early with doors opening at 3pm for the first round's of the Tag Team Jiu Jitsu tournament. Halo BJJ and Misfits BJJ made their way to the finals, and would face each other later in the show to decide the first tag team tournament winner. There was also a few championship grappling matches that led into the MMA portion of the card.

In the main event of the night Tyler "BloodThirsty" Miller defended his VFS Bantamweight title versus Devin Guerrero in a rematch. Miller who trains out of Trifecta MMA wasted no time re introducing himself, putting Guerrero down with left hook quick. Miller would follow him to the canvas and land some hard shots. Miller from top position rained down bombs until the referee stopped the fight in round 1. Tyler "BloodThirsty: Miller retains his title and will now move on to make his pro debut. As he was one of the fighters awarded with a pro contract from VFS.

The VFS Woman's flyweight Championship was on the line in the co main event as Fresno's  Emy Perez looked to defend her title versus last minute replacement  Angelica Pimentel, who is also out of Fresno and a champion in the 559 her self.  Emy came out quick landing a few before Pimentel closes distance and looks for a takedown. During the scramble Emy ends up in top position, Pimentel from her back. Shoots for a for a arm bar which looks tight but Emmy escapes. Pimentel would then moved to Emy's back where she was able to lock in a rear naked choke that forces the tap in round 1. Angelica Pimentel is your new VFS woman's flyweight champion. Pimmentel was also awarded with a pro contract from VFS.

In the VFS and CAMO state Cruiserweight title fight Ricky Melendez stopped Drew Preheim by tko. Melendez used great boxing to land some nice combos, eventually dropping Preheim with a right hand that ended the fight in round 1 making Melendez the new VFS and CAMO state champ.

Jose Aguiniga is your new VFS Flyweight championship after stopping Paul Furr with a rear naked choke that forced the tap in round 1.

Fedya Chobanyan  defeats Daniel Bradley  by submission with a rear naked choke in round 1 to take home the VFS Welterweight championship.

Zach Rodriguez and Daniel Islas went to war in a back fourth fight that had the crowd on their feet. The fight would go the distance and after three rounds of action judges scored the fight a unanimous decision for Zach Rodriquez making him the new VFS Super Heavyweight champion.

Halo BJJ defeats Misfits BJJ to become the first tag team jiu jitsu tournament champions.

Gianni Garcia  defeats Frank Corral by tko in round 1.

Jacklyn Green defeats Chelsea Mitchell by tko.

Ramon Hernandez defeats Brandon Campo by submission in round 3.

Simon Paez defeats Trae Garton by tko in round 1.

Collin Stiner defeats Jose Jr. Villasenor by tko in round 2.

Marcus Washington defeats  Edgar Salcedo by tko in round 1.

Gabriel Moes defeats Samuel Richard Mora by tko due to a cut in round 1.

Cesar Arcila  defeats Emiliano Perez by submission with an arm bar in round 1.

Christian Lopez  defeats Kody Gardner by submission with a guillotine choke that forced the tap in round 1.

Grappling matches:

In the VFS Jr Men's Novice flyweight championship  grappling match Neto Nuno stopped Jake Johnson by submission with a triangle choke that forced the tap in round 1. Paul Scrambi defended his title with a judges decision, and Janelle San Nicolas defeats Cienna Gutierrez  by judges decision to keep her VFS Women's Atomweight Championship .
